Shanhai Pithy C2 Model Room: A Fusion of Modernism and Tradition

Designers Xiaohui Chen and Jingwei Zhou Create a Unique Show Flat Inspired by Nature and Local Folk Culture

The designers have carefully considered the owner's life taste and functional needs in the design process. They have restrained the choice of color layout and accessories, shaping the integrated presentation of various spatial organizations by forward-looking design strokes. The aesthetic attitude of the modern Oriental is appropriately expressed through the coordination of regional forms.

Highlighting the stable character and vulgar taste of the owners, the overall tone is mainly gray and white. Chinese style lines, colors, and shapes are incorporated into the modern living room design. Wood veneers, bubble glass, and ink marble are matched to create an aesthetic appeal that meets the requirements of modern life.

The project covers a total of 615 square meters. Under the original architectural conditions, a new aesthetic space is constructed through simple design to present fashionable and exquisite effects. The designer combines the linear elements with the modern style perfectly, using the wood veneer and metal lines as the media. The aesthetic thinking of modern art is interspersed, making the spatial level more diversified, bringing a soft visual sense, and showing strong humanistic care in the details.

The project started in February 2018 in Kunming and finished in October 2018. As an important factor in the process of building sales, the design of model houses determines the commercial value behind them. Therefore, designers need to take into account the functional needs, cultural taste, business attributes, geographical environment, and other factors. The design should not only have the connotation and charm of traditional culture but also have the comfort and texture of modern life.

This design was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019.
